Mr. D.K. Soni

Mr. D.K. Soni retired as Joint Deputy Director, IB, Ministry of Home Affairs. He received 6 weeks training in VIP security, Moscow and has imparted training to State Police Officers (around 1600) in India, officers of Sri Lankan President’s Security Division and Royal Bhutan Police Officers. He has extensive experience on handling matters of security – 8 years in Internal Security, 16 years in Special Protection Group (PM security), 2 years in UN Mission and 13 years in VIP Security Division at Ministry of Home Affairs.

• Planned & coordinated security arrangements for international events and multilateral Summit Meets like SAARC Summit 2007, India-Africa Forum 2008 & 2015, IBSA and BIMSTAC in 2008, Commonwealth Games 2010 and FIPIC, 2015
• Acted as Chief Security Liaison Officer with the President of India and about 40 Foreign Heads of State/Government visiting India
• Conducted Security Audit of President & Vice-President House and other high threat dignitaries and iconic buildings frequently visited by VVIPs in Delhi
• Revised/up-dated Security Manuals like Yellow Book and Blue Book for the PM/President
• Visited about 40 countries for coordination of security arrangements for the President, Vice-President, PM and their family members
• Prepared Security Manual for Chief Minister, State of Punjab and conducted VIP Security Training for Punjab Police post retirement
• Carried out for State of Punjab post retirement, Security Review & Security Audit of 13 Central/Maximum Security Prisons in Punjab covering Physical, Procedural and Dynamic Security; Training; Other Challenges and made recommendations in a 250–page Report to DGP, Punjab
