Tanmoy Chakrabarty has over 41 years of experience in Business Development, Transformational Services and Government Affairs. Since April 1, 2018 till October 31, 2022 Tanmoy, as Group Government Affairs Office, TATA Sons Private Limited, synergised the various group company initiatives at Central, State and Local Governments to develop a “One TATA” approach to the government sector. Prior to that for almost 14 years at TATA Consultancy Services Limited he led large Sales & Delivery of Integrated IT Solutions and Service Teams and many enterprise wide, mission mode and holistic transformational projects in the area of e-governance in India and other parts of the World. Tanmoy’s 1st major eGov program at TCS for the Government of India was the Mission Mode Project – MCA21 for the Ministry of Corporate Affairs which won the Prime Minister’s award for Service Delivery Excellence. Of the many key projects handled are Prime Minister’s Award winning and marquee Passport Seva Project and Income Tax e-filing of taxes to name a few. He was the Vice President & Global Head – Government Industry Solutions Unit (ISU) at TCS and helped build the Government business Worldwide.
Tanmoy has been an integral part of many Industry Associations. He was on the Defence IT Sub Committee for FICCI. Additionally, he was a Member of the IT Task Force of the Chief of Air Staff, Indian Air Force and a Member of the IT Think Tank for the Chief of Army Staff, Indian Army. He was a member of the Executive Committee of Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council for 2015-17. He was a Member of the FICCI Inclusive Governance Council Committee and the NASSCOM Domestic IT Council. He was also on the Board of Management of the Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women. He was a member of the Digital India Committee at CII and member of CII National Committee on Telecom and Broadband for the year 2015-16. For two years between 2019-2021 he chaired the FICCI Infrastructure sub-committee in Delhi. He completed his tenure as the Vice President of the Public Affairs Forum of India (PAFI) in 2022 having served as Treasurer and Secretary in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
