Dr. WAIEL S.H Awwad

Dr. WAIEL S.H Awwad, winner of many international awards, based out of South Asia is a widely travelled senior foreign journalist. He has interviewed many World leaders from Asia and Arab World. He is prolific writer with many of his writings published in major English and Arabic newspapers and magazines.

His post-graduation in journalism after having completed MBBS from Delhi, programs in international law and human rights, diplomatic correspondents and video journalism from Delhi, London and Dubai, besides being fluent in Arabic, English, and Hindi & Persian have supported his illustrious career:

• Worked as South Asia Bureau Chief of Alarabiya TV Channel-Dubai Media City, MBC- London, MBCFM Radio
• Had a special program “Dateline South Asia” in Arabic, a first of its kind with Asian News International (ANI)
• As investigative correspondent, covered extensively conflicts in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, West Asia, Kargil and Gulf Region.

Amongst the numerous roles:

• Served twice as the president of the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia (FCC) and is President Emeritus
• Active and a Founding Member of the International Association Press Clubs (IAPC) currently based in Warsaw, Poland
